			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Don’t get us wrong, we love Google +, but there is something about the way people are promoting its growth that is irking us.   Yes, Google + did get 10 million users in the less than two weeks, and yes it has 25 million users in less than a month and yes that’s great!  But please, all you pundits out there, please do not show us this graph again, it’s ridiculous.</p>

<p><strong>Why is it ridiculous?</strong></p>
<p>Let us answer that with another question:  What made Google + go viral?  The answer is all the other little icons they are comparing it to which Google + is trying to beat.   Google + would have never had this growth rate without Facebook, Twitter or Linkedin  (but not myspace lol).  So basically, if ( and that’s a real if) Google + does reach any of the top three in actual users, it should thank them first, right before crushing them&#8230;</p>
<p>Google + now has 25 million of the most tech  and social media  savvy , will this little army be able to convert the 780 million on Facebook?   At this point, Twitter, Linked In and Facebook are complementary; they don’t really step on each other’s toes. But Google + is ambitious, its real success is dependent on the failure of one or more of the current 3.</p>
<p>So moral of the story is let’s wait and see. The product is good, the idea is great, the real question is if the baby-boomer, who just got a grasp of how to upload a picture on Facebook is willing to switch right away.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><p><strong>The progress of Social media on the web is not a long sinuous road; that we know!  The war between social media is ongoing, some, like MySpace have already lost and are trying to get back in the game with a niche market (music and artists in this case).   Facebook, on the other hand has become the place to be.  Brands, products, places and businesses can no longer afford  not to have a Fan page. This being said, Google has pretty much declared  war with Facebook with the introduction of  the Google + project.</strong></p>
<p>The Y generation (under 30 years old) spends about 14 hours a week at Zuckerberg’s domain, making Facebook the most visited site even before Google.  This is pretty much all Google needed to get into the social media game.  After a couple of failed attempts, namely Google Buzz, the web giant is back with a new product, designed to hurt Facebook,Linkedin and Twitter where it hurts!</p>
<p><strong>The right Strategy?</strong></p>
<p>Take the weakest points of your competitors, create a need, and a hype, combine whatever is successful on the internet, and you get the recipe for the project GOOGLE+</p>
<p>In case you didn’t already know, only 10 million beta-testers have access to Google +, and  if you’re not one of them, you’re too late!  The concept and experience looks and feels different, a kind of a look into the new look for the web.  Welcome to the future!</p>
<p><strong>Stepping stone towards a new monopoly</strong></p>
<p>Circle of close friends, circle of not so close friends, Circle of business Contacts and professionals and  Circle for family members in on platform, where information is filtered based on the circle targeted.  Google + goes even further, offering blogging, micro blogging, video calls&#8230;.  Twitter, Skype, Facebook, Linkedin, blogger, WordPress and all the competition is targeted!  The question is, is it too ambitious and will it succeed?</p>
